Private health complaints drop but COVID issues increase

Of the 862 complaints, 27% related to benefits and 26% were about membership and administration.

Complaints about membership suspension tripled to 67 for the quarter, many of them a result of people applying for suspension due to financial hardship.

In 2019-20 the Ombudsman received 3706 complaints about private health insurance, down 8.3 per cent on 2018-19.
